Aircraft Story
Classic
Designs from the period 1946–1957. More advanced aerodynamics. Still mostly wooden or mixed constructions. Usually without flaps (with exceptions according to VGC rules).
The K-8B glider with serial number (s/n) 8001, manufactured in 1962, is the first mass-produced K-8B model. This specimen thus stands at the very beginning of the production of the modernized variant of the famous Ka 8 type, which was characterized in particular by a redesigned cabin canopy and minor structural modifications improving the pilot's comfort and visibility. As the first piece of the new production series, the aircraft has exceptional historical value and represents an important milestone in the development of Alexander Schleicher's post-war club gliders.
